Each February 4th the World Health Organization (WHO), the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) and the International Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) get together to celebrate the Day against cancer.
This year topic is “Unmasking the myths.” In order to create conscience about the current situation in the world about this disease, where no one is immune.
Prevention and early detection are fundamental to stop the alarming increase in the incidence of this disease. Over 60% of the cases are concentrated in Africa, Asia, Central and South America. These regions have 70% of deaths worldwide, mainly because the lack of early detection and access to treatment for this desease.
