THE LATIN RECORDING ACADEMY RECOGNISES MIGUEL BOSÉ AS PERSON OF THE YEAR 2013
The Spanish singer Miguel Bosé was awarded this November 21st of 2013 as Person of the Year during the ceremony of the Latin GRAMMY’s.
This award is due to the continued commitment of the singer with social, professional and philanthropic causes.
His most recognized social actions are:
The concerts for Peace in Cúcuta, Colombia and Havana, Cuba, made with other artists such as Juanes, Juan Luis Guerra and Alejandro Sanz. These concerts boosted the creation of Paz Sin Fronteras (Peace Without Borders) Foundation, founded with the intention of making peace to be recognized as a Human Right.
In 2009 Miguel Bosé joined the CIE Foundation and became godfather to one of his program Music Village, which build schools for indigenous communities in remote locations.
He was recognized with the award Aid For Aids My Hero Award during the gala organized in Barcelona, by the Fight Against AIDS Foundation. Through projects such as Oceana and Hugh’s Fish Fight, he is also taking care of the protection of marine life. In 2010, Miguel Bose received the Colombian honorary citizenship for his initiatives in favor of peace.
During the recognition as Person of the Year in the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, some of his closest friends, like Juanes and Alejandro Sanz, performed to honor Miguel’s three decades of musical career.
